Democratic lawmakers in both the House and Senate are advocating for new legislation that seeks to encroach upon the inherent rights granted by God to every American citizen.

Members of the Democratic Party in Congress have recently proposed a bill that criminalizes the establishment of militias throughout the entire nation. The establishment of militias is a fundamental constitutional right granted to each and every citizen, with the purpose of safeguarding the public from potential tyranny.

The Second Amendment clearly states:

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms,

    shall not be infringed

Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) have unveiled the “Preventing Private Paramilitary Activity Act” as a response to the Capitol protests on January 6. This proposed legislation aims to restrict various militia activities and imposes criminal penalties for specific behaviors. These behaviors include intimidating elected officials, interfering with government proceedings, and impersonating law enforcement. Markey asserts that this bill will effectively prevent any future incidents similar to January 6. However, during his recent advocacy for the bill, Markey relied on the events of that day to justify his actions, which some may argue are contrary to American values.

“Three years ago, white supremacists affiliated with paramilitary organizations stormed the U.S. Capitol, shattering windows, walls, and the families of five U.S. Capitol police officers,” Markey said in a news release.

“Private paramilitary actors, such as the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, pose a serious threat to democracy and the rule of law, and we must create new prohibitions on their unauthorized activities that interfere with the exercise of people’s constitutional rights.

“The forces of bigotry, hatred, and violent extremism must be stopped for the sake of our democracy.”

Raskin tried to claim that militias promote “political violence” and threaten “our democracy.”

“Our legislation makes the obvious but essential clarification that these domestic extremists’ paramilitary operations are in no way protected by our Constitution,” he said in a statement.

“I’m grateful to Senator Markey for his partnership on this critical effort to protect the rule of law, deter insurrection, and defend our democracy.”

Lawful militias are clearly constitutionally protected by the Second Amendment: “a well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State.”

The Democratic legislation also conveniently disregards the involvement of federal assets within the crowd, which contributed to the instigation of chaotic events at the Capitol building on January 6, 2021.
