Rudy Giuliani received an indictment on Friday evening, coinciding with his 80th birthday celebration. Alongside 11 others, Giuliani was charged last month for purportedly attempting to obstruct the legal transfer of presidential power by presenting a document to Congress asserting that Trump, not President Joe Biden, was the victor of the 2020 election in the state. Democratic Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes disclosed that Giuliani was handed the indictment on Friday night, emphasizing that “no one is exempt from the law.”

Mayes spokesperson Richie Taylor informed The New York Times that Giuliani received his indictment while departing his birthday celebration at 11 p.m.
“The agents by no means disrupted his event,” Taylor said. “They waited to serve him outside as he left.”
