Former President Donald Trump criticized the Department of Justice (DOJ), branding it as “very corrupt” and accusing it of pursuing a “selective prosecution” agenda. Trump, along with many others, perceives the charges against him as part of an unjust, politically motivated prosecution, wherein the justice system is weaponized.
The skepticism grew when it was disclosed that current President Joe Biden would not be facing charges from the DOJ, despite being under a similar investigation related to classified documents. Trump, who is dealing with a comparable investigation, expressed his frustration with the DOJ’s perceived biased approach.
Notably, Trump had previously highlighted the contrast, asserting that Biden, who was vice president when handling classified documents, lacked the authority to declassify them and should be subject to charges. In a post on Truth Social, Trump vehemently criticized the DOJ for seemingly overlooking Biden’s improper storage of classified documents at his Delaware residence and various Biden-associated offices.
Trump took to Truth Social:
“WOW! FAKE NEWS CNN, THROUGH A LEAK FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF INJUSTICE, HAS JUST REPORTED THAT NO CHARGES WILL BE FILED IN THE (MUCH BIGGER THAN MINE!!!) CROOKED JOE BIDEN DOCUMENTS CASE. WE ARE LIVING IN A VERY CORRUPT COUNTRY!”

His dissatisfaction became evident shortly after U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland declared last week that, instead of pursuing charges, the Department of Justice (DOJ) would issue a “report” regarding Biden’s investigation related to classified documents. The release of the report is anticipated at the end of the year, effectively extending beyond the crucial 2024 election.
“SELECTIVE PROSECUTION!!!” Trump added.
