A Democratic member of the House of Representatives has urged President Joe Biden to reconsider his choice to release the funds that had been frozen and slated for return to Iran. The President had agreed to unfreeze $6 billion that had previously been frozen during the tenure of former President Donald Trump in exchange for the release of American prisoners. However, this Democrat is now calling on the President to reverse his decision, as reported by The Epoch Times.

“As we continue to stand with Israel and mourn those lost in this unjustified and horrific terrorist attack, the United States must explore all options available to us to hold Hamas and their Iranian backers accountable. While Hamas deserves the lion’s share of the blame, Iran cannot go unpunished for its role,” Texas Democrat Rep. Colin Allred, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said.

“With this in mind, I am calling on the Administration to immediately freeze the $6 billion in Iranian assets. As we continue to support Israel in their fight against terror, I will look for ways we can work together to use all the tools at our disposal to do so while limiting the loss of innocent lives,” he said.

His demand comes after he announced he would challenge Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in the next election.

“Allred is the heavy favorite for the nomination as so far only two little-known Democrats are opposing him,” the report said.

“The Cruz/Allred battle is sure to be among the most watched elections in 2024, as the Republican incumbent barely survived a strong 2018 challenge from Democrat Beto O’Rourke by only three points,” it said.

“The Progressive Turnout Project’s Alex Morgan told Time Magazine in May that he sees Mr. Cruz as the most vulnerable GOP Senate incumbent,” it said.

Contrast his reaction with that of other Democrats, such as Representative Rashida Tlaib from Michigan. FOX Business reporter Hillary Vaughn questioned the congresswoman on Tuesday, posing numerous inquiries regarding the dreadful terrorist assault conducted by Hamas, which resulted in the killing of Jewish civilians.

“Congresswoman, Hamas terrorists have cut off babies’ heads and burned children alive. Do you support Israel’s rights to defend themselves against this brutality?” the reporter said as the representative ignored her.

“You can’t comment about Hamas terrorists chopping off babies’ heads? Congresswoman, do you have a comment on Hamas terrorists chopping off babies’ heads?” the reporter pressed.

“You have nothing to say about Hamas terrorists chopping off babies’ heads? Do you condone what Hamas has done chopping off babies’ heads, burning children alive, raping women in the streets? You have no comment about children’s heads being chopped off?” she said.

But the representative and her staff got into an elevator and continued to ignore the question.

“Congresswoman, why do you have the Palestinian flag outside your office if you do not condone what Hamas terrorists have done to Israel? Do Israeli lives not matter to you?” the reporter said.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, representing President Joe Biden’s administration, responded vigorously to remarks made by certain Democrats.

“I’ve seen some of those statements this weekend, and we’re going to continue to be very clear. We believe they’re wrong, we believe they’re repugnant, and we believe they’re disgraceful,” she said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

“Our condemnation belongs squarely with terrorists who have brutally murdered, raped, kidnapped hundreds, hundreds of Israelis. There can be no equivocation about that. There are not two sides here. There are not two sides,” she said.

She was responding to the statements like those of some members of the “Squad.”

“Today is devastating for all those seeking a lasting peace and respect for human rights in Israel and Palestine. I condemn Hamas’ attack in the strongest possible terms. No child and family should ever endure this kind of violence and fear, and this violence will not solve the ongoing oppression and occupation in the region. An immediate ceasefire and de-escalation is urgently needed to save lives,” New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said after the attacks.
