CNN polling analyst Harry Enten is challenging President Joe Biden’s claim that he was underestimated by the polls in 2020.
“The idea that the polls underestimated Joe Biden last time around, simply put, does not hold any water,” Enten told CNN’s John Berman Monday. The individual observed that polls conducted in 2020 consistently indicated that Biden was leading Trump by several points – contradicting the assertion that the polls depicted him in a similarly vulnerable position back then as he is currently. The polling expert further pointed out that Congressional Republican candidates were actually undervalued in 2022, and that Trump performed better in the general election than the polls indicated in July of 2016.
He added, “If anything, the polls have underestimated Republicans during the Trump era — especially in the presidential races in 2016 and in 2020.

Watch:
Biden is saying that 2020 polls underestimated him, so why believe them now? When it comes to the general election, that's not true. Polls overestimated him.
