(CBrief) – President Joe Biden turned some heads during an otherwise routine press conference on Wednesday following the midterm elections, which were seen as a disappointment to Republicans.
At one point during the press conference, a reporter noted that former President Donald Trump’s political clout remains relatively strong in the country despite a less-than-stellar outcome for his party during Tuesday’s elections, saying his so-called “MAGA” movement is “still very strong.”
“How do you reassure [the G7]… that the former president will not return or that his political movement, which is still very strong, will not once again take power in the United States?” the reporter asked.
“Oh yeah?” Biden said in an incredulous tone as the reporter continued to talk about Trump’s clout, eventually forcing a chuckle.
“[W]e just have to demonstrate that he will not take power,” Biden, having trouble with words, began.
He then added ominously: “If he does run, making sure he, under legitimate efforts of the Constitution, does not become the next president again.”
He then moved on without explaining what those “legitimate efforts” might be, the Western Journal reported.

For his part, though a majority of Americans before the election said they see the country moving in the wrong direction, Biden also said at the press conference that he doesn’t plan to change directions or policies.
Given that a majority thinks the country is on the wrong track, what will you do definitely? "Nothing," Biden replies before explaining that's "because they're just now finding out what we are doing."
