Republicans picked up some major wins in New York after several races were called Wednesday.

Republican Congressman-elect Mike Lawler flipped the state’s 17th Congressional District against Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair Sean Patrick Maloney.

Lawler told reporters at a press conference Maloney, who was in charge of protecting the House Democrats’ majority in Congress, conceded the historic loss marks the first by a sitting House campaign committee chair since 1992, according to Cook Political Report.

New York Congressman-elect Anthony D’Esposito told Newsmax his Democrat opponent Laura Gillen conceded the 4th Congressional District.

Republican George Santos also flipped a seat in the 3rd Congressional District in New York against Democrat opponent Robert Zimmerman.

Another important pickup for Republicans was Marc Molinaro’s win over Democrat Josh Riley in the 19th Congressional District, which President Biden won by five points in 2020.
