Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is criticizing Joe Biden and the White House for what they perceive as disrespectful behavior towards Christians on Easter.
“It is appalling and insulting that Joe Biden’s White House prohibited children from submitting religious egg designs for their Easter Art Event, and declared Easter Sunday as ‘Trans Day of Visibility,’” Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told Breitbart News on Saturday. “Sadly, these are just two more examples of the Biden Administration’s years-long assault on the Christian faith. We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only — the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
The Trump campaign’s decision to take action follows Biden’s official declaration as the President of the United States on Good Friday, proclaiming that Easter Sunday this year will be recognized as the “Transgender Day of Visibility.”
“We honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives,” Biden said in the proclamation.
Furthermore, Biden and his administration have recently implemented a ban on children submitting artwork with “overtly religious” themes at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. This event, typically nonpartisan and uncontroversial, has now been infiltrated by Biden and his radical leftist employees pushing their own agenda. First Lady Jill Biden, who hosts the event, distributed a flyer to participants explicitly stating that Easter eggs must not contain any religious symbols, themes, or partisan political statements. The flyer emphasized the exclusion of any questionable content.
These recent developments follow Biden’s decision to prioritize a fundraising event with former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton over attending the wake of a fallen New York City Police Department officer, Jonathan Diller. In contrast, former President Trump attended Officer Diller’s wake and highlighted the importance of restoring law and order, which has been undermined by Biden and his Democrat allies.
Immediately after attending a lavish fundraiser hosted by actress Mindy Kaling, where he was interviewed by late-night comedian Stephen Colbert and entertained by elitist performers like Lizzo and Queen Latifah, Biden issued an official proclamation declaring Easter Sunday as the new national “Transgender Day of Visibility.” These cultural missteps by the Biden administration, both regarding Easter and law enforcement, present significant opportunities for the Trump campaign to showcase how much better America was under Trump’s leadership and how it can improve further if he returns to office.
