(CBrief) – Newly unearthed video images featuring then-2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden seem to show the state of security in his garage where classified documents were recently found. In the video, Biden is seen driving his vintage Chevrolet Corvette, and at one point, boxes believed to have contained some of the classified documents can be seen strewn haphazardly in the background — unsecured.

The images surfaced after Biden last week claimed that the documents were not readily available and out in the open.

“By the way, my Corvette’s in a locked garage. Okay, so it’s not like they’re sitting on the street,” Biden told Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy during questioning. “People know, I take classified documents and classified material seriously. I also said we’re cooperating fully and completely with the Justice Department’s review.”

But, as the Washington Examiner reported on Friday:

Biden showed off a garage in a 2020 “Joe Biden Gets Vetted” campaign video in which he touted his Corvette. Multiple boxes can be seen in the background of his garage in the video, though it is not clear if those boxes contained the stash of documents with classification markings or if the garage is the same one where the documents were discovered.

“I love this car. Nothing but incredible memories. Every time I get in it, I think of my dad and Beau,” he added, a reference to his oldest son who died of brain cancer in 2015.
