(BLP) – South Australia’s extreme COVID-19 restrictions are on track to become a permanent fixture, according to a segment from 7 News – WATCH:

As the reporter explained, “the new [South Australian COVID-19] legislation is said to replace the Emergency Management Act responsible for rules like mandatory quarantining and mask wearing.”

“But the alternative bill could face some pushback in the Upper House. The law society says it lacks detail and would hand the governor extraordinary, permanent powers,” she went on.

“Leaked documents have reportedly revealed that the Liberal Party is worried about hefty penalties of up to $75,000 and a two-year jail term planned for any future covid breaches,” she added.

In other words, restrictions would no longer be categorized as an emergency. They would be codified as law and enforced indefinitely.

This is the same form of classification being pushed by the World Health Organization’s proposed “pandemic treaty,” which would give the WHO power to declare “health emergencies,” followed by the various suggested “solutions”(surveillance, vaccine passports, etc.) whenever it wants.

Many conservative outlets have been asking a very important question ever since Australia morphed into essentially a lockdown state in response to the pandemic: Is all this a consequence of Aussies giving up their gun rights?

“So far, the powers that be seem to be running into minimal resistance in Australia with these kinds of things, probably because that country gave up its gun rights years ago,” Natural News reported. “Many are warning that Americans must defend the Second Amendment at all costs to avoid the same type of thing happening here.”

The outlet continued, claiming that many others agree with the notion that “governments are magnetized to maximum totalitarianism when they know that the population does not possess the weaponry to fight back against it.”

Aussies gave up their guns after The 1996 Port Arthur massacre. And as some left-wing outlets like The Atlantic have highlighted, the new legislation saw a dramatic decline in gun crimes. But at what cost?

Our friends down under have had a similar pandemic response to that of Communist China, implementing extreme lockdowns, curfews, universal mask mandates, country entry requirements, and even “occupancy limits so stringent that they render many businesses unprofitable.”

Most of these extreme measures have gone virtually untouched by the American corporate press, but videos posted to Twitter have gone viral over the years showcasing the severe responses that have been implemented in an “attempt” to combat the virus.

Now, as the Biden administration pushes for even more gun control in the wake of the tragic shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday. Many Americans are pointing out what could be in store for the country down the line using Australia as their prime case study.

What could more gun control now mean for the nation in 3, 5, and 10 years?

Here’s something Democrat talking heads don’t want to admit: Guns prevent government tyranny.
