Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) has issued a formal apology for drawing a comparison involving the House of Representatives. Last Thursday evening, viewers were shocked by the contentious hearing of the House Oversight Committee, during which members engaged in a heated exchange of personal insults:

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) inquired Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) during the Thursday hearing if she was aware of the purpose of the hearing.

“I don’t think you know what you’re here for,” the Georgia congresswoman responded. “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up…”

The hearing erupted with participants speaking simultaneously, while Representative Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), the ranking member, interjected, “That’s unacceptable from both of you.” This resulted in a lengthy debate over whether Greene should retract her statement from the official record.

Crockett then asked Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, “I’m just curious, just to better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blonde, bad built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”

Comer asked, “A what now?… I have no idea what you just said.”
