(The Post Millennial) – “Truth Social” , the new social media platform planned by Donald Trump’s Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), is now set to launch on Feb. 21 2021.
The app is said to be “similar to Twitter” and will feature a following system and trending topics.
Trump was famously banned from Twitter a year ago, and by Facebook not long after. The Trump team appealed the decision, but the Facebook Oversight Board upheld the ban on May 5 2021.
According to Yahoo News, “The launch is expected to be the first of three stages in TMTG’s development. The second would be a subscription video-on-demand service called TMTG+ with entertainment, news and podcasts, according to the company website.”
It also appears that TMTG will be launching a network of podcasts to go along with Truth Social.
TMTG raised approximately $1 billion in a round of fundraising from private investors in Dec. 2021. The company is currently valued at $4.3 billion after their Oct. 2021 merger with Digital World Acquistion Corp.
Trump is expected to expound more on the issue at a Jan. 15 rally to be held in Arizona.
