Tiffany Henyard, a Democrat who assumed office in 2021, has been described as bringing a confident demeanor to her position as the mayor of a small Illinois community. However, some individuals have raised concerns about her conduct, suggesting that she has not only adopted a style reminiscent of a gangster but has also been misusing her authority. The New York Post has reported on these allegations, highlighting the potential abuse of power by Mayor Henyard.
“People look at politics like a joke, it’s like a mockery right now because of all this stuff,” Village of Dolton Trustee Kiana Belcher said. “She comes to board meetings dressed like Nino Brown.”

In one meeting, she had a DJ play Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money” as she strutted around.
Lawrence Gardner, aged 57, claimed that the show had a negative aspect, stating that Henyard’s demand for an additional $3,500 donation to her campaign fund led to the closure of his business.
“I made the payment,” he said. “Then every year she started coming and required the same thing, and we had a problem about that.”
Gardner stated that false allegations of selling alcohol and the revocation of his business license ensued after he declined to provide additional funds.
“What is she, Nino Brown?” he said. “Anything she wants done, she gets them to harass you. She likes nobody. If you are not doing what she say, if you are not doing how she’s saying to do it, you are a problem. She don’t like them.”
