(BLP) – June 25, 2022 was a bad day for Second Amendment advocates.

President Joe Biden signed a gun control bill, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.

When Biden signed the gun control package into law, he said “there’s much more work to do.”

According to a Fox News report, Biden also said, “This bill doesn’t do everything I want. It does include actions I’ve long called for that are going to save lives. I know there’s much more work to do. And I’m never going to give up.”

AWR Hawkins of Breitbart News observed that this gun control package was pushed by Texas Senator John Cornyn. Per Hawkins, this package “expands background checks for some gun buyers, uses taxpayer money to incentivize states to enact red flag laws, and broadens the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) prohibited purchasers list by using domestic violence statutes to cover dating relationships.”

In addition, Hawkins noted that the package also “focuses on straw purchases and gun trafficking, two things that had nothing to do with Uvalde, Buffalo, Parkland, Las Vegas, Orlando, or Sandy Hook.”

BLP previously reported that no compromise, pro-gun organizations such as Gun Owners of America and the National Association for Gun Rights stood in opposition to this gun control bill.

In many pro-gun organizations’ view, this gun control package will be a slippery slope for further gun control encroachments.

For the time being, red states should push the envelope by nullifying this newly passed gun control law, and while they’re at it, ignore other unconstitutional gun control laws at the federal level.

The Right must start getting creative with the ways it pokes Gun Control Inc. in the eye.
