Ella Emhoff, the 24-year-old stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris, has managed to raise an impressive $8 million for Gaza, a territory under the control of Hamas, a group with controversial affiliations.

Ella, the daughter of Doug Emhoff, who holds the title of “First Gentleman” and is of Jewish heritage, has spearheaded a fundraising campaign, which she has actively promoted on her personal Instagram account.

The fundraiser is presented as “supporting urgent relief for Gaza’s children.” However, there is concern that the funds may end up benefiting Hamas, a group viewed as controversial.

Remarkably, the fundraiser doesn’t acknowledge the tragic loss of life among Israeli children, who were among the 1,400 innocent people killed by Hamas terrorists on October 7.

Ella Emhoff’s campaign has reached her audience of 315,000 Instagram followers.

The fundraiser is managed by the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund, a nonprofit based in Kent, Ohio, as reported by ProPublica. In 2021, this organization reportedly collected over $21 million.

It’s unclear how much, if anything, Ella Emhoff herself has contributed to the cause.

Ella Emhoff’s fundraising efforts have sparked significant controversy and debate.

“It’s of tremendous concern and I find it abhorrent,” said Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ).

“To be honest with you, I am kind of stunned by it.

“It’s disturbing to the maximum degree.”

Van Drew, who serves on the House Homeland Security Committee, expressed grave concerns about the likelihood that Hamas could divert any humanitarian aid intended for Gaza.

It’s worth noting that Ella Emhoff, in statements to the press, has made it clear that she does not identify as Jewish. Her representative stated firmly in 2021, “Ella is not Jewish,” to The Forward.

“It’s not something she grew up with.

“Ella truly has no qualms with the faith, but she does not want to speak on behalf of Judaism, as she does not celebrate herself.”

Ella Emhoff’s biological mother is Kerstin Emhoff, a film producer. With the heightened media scrutiny accompanying Vice President Harris’s ascent to office, Ella Emhoff has embraced a modeling career. She even made appearances at New York Fashion Week, including some semi-nude photoshoots.

She maintains a close relationship with her stepmother, Vice President Kamala Harris, who proudly celebrated her achievements in a post on X following Emhoff’s graduation from Parsons in 2021.

“Keep dreaming with ambition and there is nothing you cannot achieve,” Harris wrote.

In a recent announcement, President Joe Biden revealed his plan to provide $100 million in “humanitarian aid” to Gaza. This decision has generated a rapid and strong response from several Republican figures who are considering running against him in the 2024 presidential election. Notable figures like former President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum have voiced their opposition to this initiative.
