A fully occupied Boeing 747 passenger aircraft had to perform an emergency landing when one of its engines caught fire during takeoff.

A video capturing the moment the plane took off in Indonesia shows an engine exploding in flames. Witnesses observed flames shooting out from the back of the 747-400 aircraft just after it took off with 468 passengers on board.

The flight, managed by Garuda Indonesia, was en route from Makassar to Medina in Saudi Arabia. Many passengers were on their way to participate in the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. The pilots had to quickly turn back after takeoff to land the plane in an emergency.

Fortunately, they managed to land safely 90 minutes later. All passengers and crew were able to evacuate without any harm.
