Former President Donald Trump is making one of his luxury resorts in Florida available to accommodate approximately 275 linemen who will be engaged in restoring power following the impact of Hurricane Milton.

The linemen will be hosted at the Trump National Doral Miami resort located in South Florida, an area that is not anticipated to experience the most severe effects of Hurricane Milton, as noted by Eric Trump in a social media update on Wednesday. The Category 4 hurricane is forecasted to make landfall shortly and is expected to inflict significant damage across a large portion of Florida, with the potential for catastrophic storm surges and high wind speeds, as reported by The New York Times.

“This is another example of the Trump family’s amazing generosity,” Karoline Leavitt, national press secretary for the Trump campaign, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “They truly care for the hardworking people of this country.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, approximately 50 out of Florida’s 67 counties are currently under evacuation orders, as reported by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. Hurricane Helene impacted Florida, especially the Gulf Coast region, at the end of September before proceeding to cause significant damage across North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Linemen stationed at Trump’s resort will collaborate with tens of thousands of electrical workers arriving from across the nation to support the recovery efforts following Hurricane Milton, as stated by Fox 13 Tampa Bay. The Trump National Doral Miami resort offers nearly 650 rooms and suites for its guests, according to Forbes Travel Guide.

Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has accused Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis of engaging in “political games” regarding the response to Hurricane Milton by avoiding a phone call. However, President Joe Biden confirmed on Monday that he has been in communication with DeSantis concerning both hurricanes.
