President Joe Biden, a Democrat, has recently released a fresh campaign video for his 2024 re-election bid, which seems to address apprehensions regarding his age and suitability for office by explicitly stating that he is “not a young guy.” In this latest campaign video, Biden openly acknowledges the growing concerns surrounding his advanced age. On Friday, the 81-year-old humorously addressed what is perceived to be his biggest vulnerability as a presidential candidate.

“Look, I’m not a young guy. That’s no secret,” he insisted as he spoke directly to the camera.

“But here’s the deal: I understand how to get things done for the American people.”

Biden proceeded to outline the purported achievements of his initial term as president. He then attempted to draw parallels to his political adversary President Donald Trump. This occurred subsequent to the release of a significant special counsel report last month, which emphasized his cognitive challenges. In his new political advertisement, Biden commended his own management of the pandemic and the capping of insulin prices for senior citizens.

He also highlighted the approval of infrastructure legislation. In reference to Trump, he criticized him for restricting “the freedom of women to choose” regarding abortion. This most recent advertisement is the first in a $30 million strategy that will focus on crucial battleground states over a six-week period. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are journeying across the nation and hosting political gatherings.

Although the president typically makes light-hearted remarks about his advanced age in more intimate settings, his recent statements could potentially upset the public in light of the report that described him as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
