(SNews) – Elon Musk humiliated a BBC reporter for “lying” about “hate speech” on Twitter during a live interview.

The BBC’s James Clayton interviewed Musk during a live broadcast on Twitter Spaces.

Clayton tried to suggest that so-called “misinformation” and “hate speech” have increased on Twitter since Musk took over the company in October.

However, Musk immediately turned the tables on Clayton and exposed the “impartial” reporter’s “lying” on the subject.

Clayton claimed that he sees more “hate speech” on Twitter now than he did before Musk bought the platform.

He then used that false claim to question Musk about the fabricated narrative.

Musk refused to play along, however, and fired back by asking Clayton to provide examples of the alleged “hateful content” that he claims to have seen.

Clayton rambled in response and his falsehood quickly unraveled during the live interview.

Musk then accused Clayton of spreading a “false” claim.

“I say, sir, that you don’t know what you are talking about… because you cannot give me a single example of hateful content, not even one tweet,” Musk said.

“You claimed that hateful content is high. That is false, you just lied.”

Clayton tried walking back his claim by saying he hasn’t viewed his own Twitter feed “for weeks” because of all the “hateful content,” despite previously claiming he has recently seen an increase in “hate speech” on the platform.

He then attempted to defend his line of questioning by citing unidentified “studies” by unnamed “organizations” that, he claims, have warned about an alleged rise in “hateful” posts on the site.

While getting shredded by Musk, Clayton refused to explain himself after being backed into a corner.

Instead, the humiliated reporter tried to move on to a different question.

The next question, about Twitter’s “Covid misinformation policies,” also immediately backfired.

Musk also called out the BBC for claiming to be impartial and unbiased while promoting the British government’s agenda.

Clayton declined to answer, arguing, “This is not an interview about the BBC.”

Musk responded: “Oh, you thought it wasn’t?”

Clayton later published an article about the interview on the BBC website.

The “unbiased” reporter claimed that he “challenged” Musk “over misinformation and hate speech on the platform.”

Conveniently, Clayton failed to mention that Musk humiliated him by exposing the BBC reporter’s false claims.
