(Snews) – Georgia’s Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has claimed that her poll numbers are low because “black men” are too easily fooled by “misinformation.”

Abrams is trailing Georgia’s Republican incumbent Governor Brian Kemp by anywhere from 6 points to double digits, according to the latest polls.

As Slay News previously reported, has already started preparing for her defeat by claiming that she will only lose to incumbent Kemp if Republicans’ so-called “voter suppression” efforts are successful.

In a desperate statement, Abrams claimed that her supporters will have to “navigate” the “voter suppression” that Kemp has allegedly “put in place” for the election.

And now, Abrams is trying to suggest that her would-be voters are being “targeted” with “misinformation.”

Without evidence, Abrams laid out her “misinformation” narrative during a recent appearance on MSNBC.

Abrams began by saying that she did not believe the polls reveal that there is any real enthusiasm for Kemp.

So far, polls have suggested that Abrams’ support among black male voters has dropped off since her last attempt to run for Georgia governor in 2018.

“I do not believe it’s because of a deep well of enthusiasm for my opponent,” Abrams said.

She then pivoted immediately to make the argument about race and suggested that black men, specifically, had been targeted and fallen victim to “misinformation.”

However, she did not clarify what exactly they were being misinformed about, nor did she provide any evidence to support her claims.

“We know that black voters are often discounted, and unfortunately, this year, black men have been a very targeted population for misinformation,” she alleged.

“Not misinformation about what they want, but about why they want what they deserve,” she said.

“And my campaign has been the only one that has very intentionally, thoughtfully, and consistently reached out.”
