David Hogg, a prominent advocate for gun control, received a comprehensive lesson on the purpose of the Second Amendment from a Chinese immigrant during a video that was shared on social media last Thursday. Lily Tang Williams, a candidate seeking the Republican nomination to run against Democratic Rep. Annie Kuster of New Hampshire, engaged in a debate with Hogg and former Libertarian vice-presidential candidate Spike Cohen at Dartmouth on Wednesday. Williams took the opportunity to address the audience about an hour and a half into the two-hour event.

“Hi, my name is Lily Tang Williams,” Williams said in the video fo the debate posted to YouTube. “Welcome to my ‘Live Free or Die’ state. Actually, I am a Chinese immigrant who survived communism, and under Mao, you know, 40 million people were starving to death after he sold communism to them and 20 million people died… murdered during his Cultural Revolution. So, my question to you, David, is can you guarantee me, a gun owner tonight, our government in the US, in DC, will never become a tyrannical government? Can you guarantee that to me?”
