The NYPD is getting ready to cancel Donald Trump’s concealed carry permit after the multiple felony convictions issued by the jury last week. According to CNN, the permit was initially suspended on April 1, 2023, after Trump’s indictment on several charges. The NYPD is now taking further action by revoking the permit completely.

The New York Times noted, “Under federal law and state law in New York and Florida, people with felony convictions are barred from possessing a firearm.”

An inquiry is currently being conducted by the NYPD, and it is expected that Trump’s license will be revoked upon its conclusion. Nevertheless, Trump retains the option to contest this decision. Trump is authorized to possess three designated handguns, with two of them being handed over to the NYPD on March 31, 2023.

The third handgun was lawfully transferred to Florida, as stated by a senior law enforcement official. CBS News reported that Trump was found guilty on 34 felony charges last week. Despite the convictions, both his approval ratings and campaign donations have increased.
