Corey Lewandowski, a senior adviser to former President Donald Trump, expressed criticism towards CNN anchor Jim Acosta on Wednesday for failing to recognize the presence of thousands of illegal immigrants in the United States who have been convicted of homicide.

As of July 21, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported that there are 13,099 non-detained illegal immigrants with homicide convictions. During his appearance on “CNN Newsroom with Jim Acosta,” Lewandowski persistently urged Acosta to address this matter; however, the CNN anchor rejected his attempts and characterized the statistic as erroneous.
